When Stan learned that Donna was looking for a new lover for him, he protested that he didn’t want to date anyone but her, but Victor informed him that that is exactly why she was looking for a new lover for him, because she knew he never would on his own. Victor told Stan that the search was keeping her mind off the fact that she was dying. Stan maintained that no one could replace Donna.
Donna and Stan became lovers after she and Victor Kaufman learned that they were no longer interested in each other romantically.
