- Straight to the Heart is a special that aired on January 8, 2006, in between Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer (episode 2.12) and Begin the Begin (episode 2.13), thus during the winter hiatus of season two. It's narrated by Steven W. Bailey as Joe.

- Under Pressure is a special recap episode detailling the previously aired episodes of the series' second season. The episode is narrated by Steven W. Bailey as Joe and aired on April 23, 2006 in between The Name of the Game (episode 2.22) and Blues for Sister Someone (episode 2.23).

- Complications of the Heart is a special recap episode detailling the remaining episodes of season two with insight on future episodes of season three. The special also marked the debut of The Fray's music video, "How to Save a Life" with clips from Grey's Anatomy episodes. This episode is narrated by Steven W. Bailey as Joe and aired on September 21, 2006, before the season three premiere.
- Every Moment Counts is a one-hour special which highlights some of the most memorable moments from the last three seasons, hosted by Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Denny Duquette, Jr.). The special also included an exclusive, world broadcast premiere "Grey's Anatomy" music video set to singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile's song, "The Story". The episode aired on April 12, 2007, in between My Favorite Mistake (episode 3.19) and Time After Time (3.20).
- Come Rain or Come Shine: From Grey's Anatomy to Private Practice recaps all of the seasons of Grey's Anatomy, relating Addison's story and previewing her spin-off series Private Practice. The episode is narrated by the editors of People Magazine and aired on September 19, 2007, a few days before the Private Practice series premiere and the Grey's Anatomy season four premiere.
