College Visit[]
Phillip and his friends, Anna and Scott got permission from their parents to drive from their home in Missoula, Montana to Seattle to visit the University of Washington. Their parents let them go alone because they're nerds who never get into trouble.
Tunnel Collapse[]
While on their way to the university, the car they were in was crushed when a tunnel collapsed. Anna and Phillip were uninjured, but Scott had penetrating abdominal trauma, so he was taken to the hospital. Anna and Phillip came into the hospital looking for him and were shocked when the doctors decided to put Scott in suspended animation using cold saline to cool his body from the inside out. They looked up the procedure on their smart phones and became worried because it has never been done in a human being. They also contacted Scott's parents to come to Seattle.
