Paul Adelstein played Cooper Freedman in Private Practice. His character also appeared in season three of Grey's Anatomy. He also directed two episodes of Private Practice.

BiographyEdit

Paul was born to a Reform Jewish family. Prior to his professional acting career, Adelstein attended the progressive Francis W. Parker School, then Bowdoin College where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude with a degree in English.

Paul Asdelstein got engaged to Liza Weil in May 2006 and they married that November. He is the lead singer and guitarist of the band "Doris" and attended Bowdoin College where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude with a degree in English. He began his career in theater, working with New Crime Productions, a company founded by John Cusack, and later with the Steppenwolf Theatre Company.

  • Paul was originally cast as the character of Preston Burke in Grey's Anatomy before Isaiah Washington, but had to turn down the role when filming of the film Be Cool got extended.
  • In an Instagram live video, he stated his most memorable guest star on the show was Melissa McCarthy.
