Nyah is a patient at Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital, who came from Africa to have surgery.
History[]
Nyah came to Seattle for surgery through the African exchange program Alex started. She had severe pericarditis.
In surgery, she was also suspected to have developed endomyocardial fibrosis, which is rare and subtropical. Cristina had only read about it. They sent a sample to pathology for testing, which confirmed her suspicion. Cristina scheduled an endocardial stripping of the left ventricle.
Post-op, Nyah's heart function had improved.
