Michael Breyers is a patient who permanently lost use of his voice in a car accident.
History[]
Michael came into the hospital after a car accident. He had a pen in his throat to help him breathe. His trachea had been crushed in the accident. He also had a bruised kidney and a lacerated liver.
Mark repaired his trachea, but told his wife that his vocal cords were completely severed, meaning he'd never speak again. ("Dream a Little Dream of Me, Part 1")
After surgery, his abdomen was tender, so they ordered another CT. The CT showed that he needed another surgery for his abdominal bleeding. They took him into surgery and repaired the damage. ("Dream a Little Dream of Me, Part 2")
