Straight out of SGH!
An exclusive chat with Isaiah Washington heads up Issue Two, but our unrivalled coverage ranges from set reports and behind-the-scenes interviews to fascinating features on real-life surgeries. Executive producer Betsy Beers is even on hand to answer your questions. It's the only place to come for all your Grey's Anatomy needs!
FX Miracles
If you’re one of the millions of Grey's fans that have sat at home week after week and watched the amazingly realistic injuries that the SGH staff have to deal with, then this feature will stun you even more. We catch up with the show's talented special effects make-up artists and find out how they work their amazing magic.
Interviews & Profiles
Since suffering a gunshot wound that almost cost him his career, it's been a bumpy time recently for the usually cool and collected Dr. Preston Burke. In an exclusive interview, actor Isaiah Washington tells us about his time so far on the hit show, and reveals what it's like to play one of America's top surgeons. As if that were not enough, we have a special profile on Sandra Oh, the actress behind SGH's toughest talking (and most competitive) intern, Dr Cristina Yang, and trace her climb from child ballerina to Golden Globe-winning actress.
When Disaster Strikes!
There's always a crisis going on at Seattle Grace, but nothing compares to the tragedy the doctors faced in the huge, three-part story arc involving a horrific ferry collision with tremendous casualties. Walk on Water, Drowning on Dry Land and Some Kind of Miracle are the most ambitious episodes the show has ever tackled. We go behind the scenes on Season Three's shock disaster episodes revealing exclusive storyboard images and talking to director Rob Corn about the incredible challenges of bringing creator Shonda Rhimes' epic scenario to life.
The Real O.R
Every issue we take an in-depth look at one of the amazing operations performed in Grey's Anatomy. This time, director of research on the show Elizabeth Klaviter talks us through the incredible surgery on Pruitt Byrd in Episode Six of Season Three, Let The Angels Commit. Byrd arrived in an air ambulance with heart pain and shortness of breath and a scan revealed a tumor that made him the perfect candidate for "Humpty Dumpty" surgery – removing the heart, scraping the tumor out, then putting the heart back into the body. Pioneering stuff.
