Ethan was a patient at Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital who had had a horseback riding accident.
Ethan was in a horseback riding accident, in which he was dragged 20 yards by a horse. He was brought into the hospital with hypotension and bleeding in his abdomen. April suspected that his femoral vein had been lacerated. When he mentioned his shoes, April determined that that was the cause of the accident. He was wearing shoes without a heel, which is dangerous when riding a horse. He was taken to CT and then into surgery. The surgery was successful.
